FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Modern rock band Illusion 33 releases their new CD – WORDS IN STEREO – November 4th, 2008
After nine years of honing the melody-drenched rock their fans covet, Illusion 33’s new release, WORDS IN STEREO, pours straight from the source. The band members deliver bona fide Illusion 33 with every blazing guitar riff, resonant three-part harmony, dynamic drumbeat and upbeat lyric on this latest CD, to be released by Dummy Boy Records on November 4th, 2008.
Based in Sandpoint Idaho, Illusion 33 members Jesse Bennett (lead vocals/guitar), Jason Stoddard (lead vocals/bass guitar), Bob Capka (guitarist) and K.C. Carter (drums) combine rural accessibility with star-power charisma and showmanship. Heard across the nation on at least 70 different radio stations and awarded “Best Band” status at the Las Vegas Music & Fashion Expo – 2005, this group of multi-talented writers and musicians packs in the fans during local all-age concerts in Sandpoint, to big name venues such as The Palms Casino in Las Vegas, The Warped Tour, Guitar Center Grand Openings, The Orange Blossom Festival and Whiskey A Go-Go-Hollywood in California, as well as many others. Their sound, although reminiscent of some of the great punk, rock and metal bands of the 80’’s and 90’s, has a contemporary edge, like the best indie rock bands of this decade.
“Illusion 33 rocks as hard on the stage as they do promoting themselves on the streets. This is a band both the Fans and the Venue love. ROCK ON!” says Lang, club owner - THE GRAIL/Coeur d’Alene, ID
“When I first heard [their new song] Words in Stereo…I got in contact with Illusion 33 to see about using it in my upcoming film, America’s Core.” “Illusion 33 is one of the most talented groups in the Northwest. On top of their talent resides a great group of people.” Michael Gough – “America’s Core.”
“To put it simply, they sound like they’re already famous.” Zach Hagadone, publisher of the Sandpoint Reader (Idaho).

Illusion 33 wrapped up shooting of the “Words In Stereo” video today in Sandpoint, ID, which will coincide with the national release of Illusion 33’s new CD on November 4th. The shoot turned out to attract overwhelming support from Illusion’s fan-base as a large number of people showed up to be in the music video. The video is directed by Patrick Brown-Hayes and is being promoted by HIP Video Promotions on major music networks such as MTV and VH1. Look for it to air near the end of October.
On October 21st – 25th Artists and Industry panelists from all over the country come together for the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival. Representing Illusion 33 at the Music Mararthon is Andy Gesner from HIP Video Promotion who has worked with bands as: Motley Crue, Trapt and Drowning Pool. Andy will be speaking on a discussion panel entitled “Online Video: How to Successfully Rise Above The Noise” as well as talking to music industry panelists and programmers.
Andy writes, “This gives me lots of face time with these programmers and since Illusion 33 will be one of our most recent top priorities I'll be talking it up a whole lot in our conversations.”
Illusion 33’s new music video “Words In Stereo” is being promoted by HIP Video Promotions on major music networks such as MTV and VH1 near the end of October.
Greetings rock and roll lovers, it's Andy Gesner and the staff from HIP Video Promo, here with a new clip from a Northwestern favorite just beginning to make their mark on a national stage. Beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho isn't anywhere near any of the nation's major metropolitan areas – in fact, it's much closer to the Canadian border than it is to Boise. But favorite sons Illusion 33 have cultivated a sound big enough for any city. Two CDs in, they've already gone from local celebrities to regional stars. Trips to Seattle have established the quartet there, and the national release of the Words In Stereo EP seems certain to introduce Illusion 33's infectious songs to audiences across the country.
The band has already been played on 68 stations across the country, and their relentless gigging schedule has taken them from coast to coast. They're on the rise – and they're doing it with talent, hooks, energy, and a broad and deep appreciation of rock history. The members of Illusion 33 love the classic hard rock of the Eighties and Nineties, and that's reflected in the intensity of their performances and the sheer power of their sound. But they've got a taste for tuneful pop, too, and they can pen choruses immediate enough to compel concert crowds to sing along – even when they're barely familiar with the band. (Indeed, Illusion 33 is a group that makes a memorable first impression). The result? A winning amalgam of commercial rock, edgy pop-punk, and bruising heavy metal, delivered by an entertaining frontman whose commitment is undeniable.
"Words In Stereo", the title track of the EP, is a concert favorite and Illusion 33's most undeniable cut yet. Formidable guitarist Bob Capka shows off two sides of the group's personality, beginning the song with an acrobatic high-note weave and ushering in the singalong chorus with a crunchy, distortion-drenched chord. Bassist Jason Stoddard and drummer K.C. Carter lock in to a supple groove behind him; they're rock steady, but flexible, too. Singer-guitarist Jesse Bennett sells it all with his powerful, emotionally-charged vocals, and as always, the band decorates the track with the arena-ready harmonies that have become an Illusion 33 trademark.
Director Patrick Brown-Hayes is without a doubt the most decorated filmmaker in Sandpoint – his video introduction to the town is now a much-viewed YouTube clip. He's a fan of the band, and his enthusiasm for Illusion 33 is apparent in the "Words In Stereo" clip. The young director takes a documentary approach, capturing the excitement of a band trip to Seattle for a big gig. We're shown the car trip, the approach of the city's famous skyline, the screaming fans greeting the car at the club, the band hotel, and, of course, lots of footage of Illusion 33 in action, driving the crowd wild. Shot with the easy intimacy of a home movie, the "Words In Stereo" video provides a crisp introduction to a group poised to make noise in autumn 2008 and beyond.
It's a big pleasure for us to have the opportunity to work with Spencer Andrews and the rest of the Dummy Boy Records crew. We're all set up with copies of Words In Stereo for all of your on-air giveaway needs, so please drop us a line to get your hands on some. We're off to a solid start with Illusion 33 as 35 stations gave the record an add, including KAOS in Olympia, WA, KCPR in San Luis Obispo, CA, KWCW in Walla Walla, WA, WCRD in Muncie, IN and WCWM in Williamsburg, VA. Among these stations, four reported their adds to CMJ -- quite a distinction considering stations can only pick five records per week for reported adds. Even better, we picked up early chart support from WUMM in Machias, ME at 12 and WNSU in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, who charted the record at 21! We are encouraged with how this campaign has started off and the feedback we've received from stations. We'll keep pushing to bring new stations on board in the coming weeks as well as getting stations who've added the record to begin spinning it!

Illusion 33 "Words In Stereo" music video airplay report update:
November 24th, 2008
The promotion has been advancing forward with great momentum, so far raking in a total of twenty two adds. During this last installment of the campaign "Words In Stereo" has captured airplay from a number of incredible outlets, especially from the regional front. There's no doubt that programmers are taking a liking to the Illusion 33 clip, and we're confident that this success will continue as the promotion continues into its second half. This report is chock full of great programming news that assures us that this promotion is advancing forward with great force
The amount of regional support that the video has acquired in the past two weeks has been awesome. Recently jumping in on the Illusion 33 action is VidDream. This video program reaches out to an impressive 2.3 million viewers in Delaware, Baltimore and Philadelphia. In addition, VidDream can also be seen by audiences in Bucks County, PA and select markets throughout New Jersey. Over in San Francisco another 1.7 million viewers get the VidDream hookup and can now get their dose of Illusion 33's "Words In Stereo" thanks to this awesome outlet. The indie rock show Video Hits has also picked up the clip. Video Hits has a great influence over the music scene in Upstate New York. It reaches out to 800,000 potential viewers residing in Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo. Approximately 8,000 students on campus at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point can now check out the "Words In Stereo" thanks to Point Music TV. This program also airs ..d-circuit television and on cable access to areas surrounding the campus. The next regional addition is courtesy of Video Underground. This video show is run out of Washington State University and has approximately 45,000 potential viewers.
This next outlet serves as a great transition from regional to retail airplay for this report since it covers both platforms. Taylor Production Broadcast not only airs in 150,000 households in Trenton, New Jersey and Columbus, Ohio, but it also services music videos to over 1,000 retail locations. Taylor Production Broadcast will be servicing the "Words In Stereo" video throughout the months of November and December. Continuing on the retail pool front, "Words In Stereo" has found its way onto the reels from VME Media. This outlet is great because it provides content to major electronic stores, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and other retail outlets in California and Nevada. This network has 24 hours of commercial free music seen by over 5 million viewers every month. This is the best time of the year to secure retail exposure because people are out in record numbers during the winter season doing their holiday shopping, which makes them much more likely to encounter "Words In Stereo".
The final addition for this report is from a great internet outlet. The "Words In Stereo" clip can now be viewed by web surfers at TVFunTime.com. This site plays horror movies, cartoons, Kung fu movies, and of course, music videos. The Illusion 33 clip has been added to the site's archive of videos for the month of December. Anyone who takes a gander at what TVFunTime.com has to offer will be able to enjoy one of the web's awesome TV networks at no cost.
The "Words In Stereo" music video campaign has enjoyed tons of excellent airplay thus far, however there's still plenty more airplay out there to seize. We're confident that this next half of the promotion will be just as successful as the first, but of course, we'll put our best foot forward to make sure that happens.

We had four stations charting the record this week. On the plus side, this includes a debut from WMCO in New Concord, OH (20)! I'm also happy to report that we maintained support with WMCR in Monmouth, IL (3), KSLU in Hammond, LA (10), WMCO in New Concord, OH (20) and WNSU in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (21). One of our supporters from last week, WRHO in Oneonta, NY, failed to report this week, but this is likely due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
As of now, 147 stations have made Illusion 33 available for spins. New adds
this week came from the likes of WRBB in Boston, MA, WXLV in Schnecksville, PA, WODU in Norfolk, VA, WDCV in Carlisle, PA, just to name a few. We'll look to rally this loyal support, as well as bring on new supporters anywhere we can in order to secure a strong showing to finish out the year.
